Tony Duncan ​ MSc FdA


Tony Duncan is a subject matter expert in the field of crowd and safety management. His impressive operational portfolio in the live music industry is supported by academic and vocational qualifications.

These include a Masters Degree in Business Continuity, Security & Emergency Management; a Foundation Degree in Crowd & Safety Management; BTech level 3 in Close Protection and a level 5 Certificate in Work Based Learning.

Tony has developed his operational expertise over the last 14 years in the global event security industry as a crowd and safety specialist and tour security director for high profile clients that include U2 (on going); Madonna; Bon Jovi; Lady Gaga; Rihanna; Justin Timberlake; Lionel Ritchie; James Brown; Sir Paul McCartney; Muse and Keane.

Tony continues to contribute to the industry through participating as a member of the panel of experts at crowd and safety events, he has published several papers on concert crowd dynamics and emergency planning for large scale live music events and submitted a dissertation on business continuity and emergency management within medium and large scale music events and festivals, as part fulfilment for his Masters Degree. He was also a contributor to In Hindsight: A compendium of business continuity case studies (2014) and is currently studying for an Advanced Certificate in Terrorism Studies at St Andrews University.

Tony is a senior security and crowd manager for several large scale outdoor festivals including Hong Kong FE, Dragon Land (Hong Kong), T in the Park (UK), Connect Festival (UK) and continues to consult for Live Nation Global Touring on Event Continuity, Security and Emergency Planning and for Emergency Planning and Management for the Hong Kong Sevens (HKRU).
